(I’m Takin’) A Psycho-tropical Vacation
Song Lyric by Doug Gravess

I’m takin’ a psycho-tropical vacation,
At an undisclosed location,
In another state--not nation--

Where I wade in I.V. league post-doc sensations.
With my hard-knocks education
Here’s hoping I won’t soon awaken

From my psycho-tropical cruise.
How the many bennies do soothe
Better than chocolate or booze.
Ship of fools, some accuse.

My fakin’ never made the leap to makin’
Left my heart that much more achin’
My soul that much more forsaken.

No one in their right mind could remain
Sane in this barren earthly plain.
Someone so aloof as to stay stable
Must have a screw loose!

So, I’m takin’ a psycho-tropical vacation.
Would that my denoting connotation
Had only been stirred, not shaken.

Sorry, but this seat is taken.
