As long as I didn’t hesitate

As long as I didn’t hesitate the map of the western world tightly clutched in my hands
Waving to no one in particular
As long as I didn't hesitate running my theory down to dog who licked my hands and arms,
Smiling at my exuberance
And asked me to further elaborate on the plans I had make
To traverse the world
Looking for the answer
I knew was out there
Just beyond my grasp.

As long as I didn’t hesitate, I could create
And gather momentum to further my cause
Breaking me out of my stagnant state
Pushing me to the brink of awareness
I craved, this change
As it had been a long time coming.
Searching the skys for that omen
Searching my heart
For the motive
I began to retrace my steps.
Retrace my thoughts
And pare down my direction.
Remembering all journeys begin with a single step
