Check Out Girl
Song Lyric by David Drake

I'm checkin' out the checkout girl at the store.
I'll stand in line so she'll check me out once more.
Alleged window shopper, I stand at large. So help me your honor, I'm guilty as charged,
Of checkin' out the checkout girl at the store.

While I'm buyin' groceries, her heart I am hoping to steal.
With two for one offer, I shop for a package deal.
She'd be a bargain, whatever the price. Home economics with her would be nice.
Oh, check me out, checkout girl at the store.

Sometimes she's on the floor, stockin' the shelves.
If I drop in I'll reach up some high ones myself.
Shelvin' up snack foods, once, as we talked
I suddenly saw she's a blue chip stock.
Cash me in, sweet checkout girl at the store.

In the long line, I've got eight items or less.
Though I'm in the right lane, it's my heart I long to express.
I'd line up and buy til she goes on break. But how much shitake can one man take?
Check me out, sweet checkout girl at the store.

Our hands briefly brush: a tender exchange just begun.
Again, if there's change. Then the transaction is done.
When she says paper or plastic, like a wet noodle my legs go elastic.
Please carry me out, checkout girl, from the store.
Then carry me home, checkout girl I implore.
And check me in, sweet checkout girl from the store.
Check me in, sweet checkout girl evermore.
