My name is Joe. I am a Gulf War Vet. I was in Iraq 20 years ago 1991-1994. Santa Cruz is my home town. I was homeless and lived in my van. Now I am housed.
Putting mentally disabled people in jail with criminally insane people does not work and is not fair. My girlfriend and I are both 100% mentally and physically disabled and she went to jail for 30 days and almost died because she did not get her medication. This is not supposed to happen but it did. Please do not let this happen again to anyone ever.
